System of a down's Mezmerize.
Um, System of a Down. Buncha Ukranian guys, last I heard. Their thing at the start - Toxicity - was very nice speed metal.
Then they put out something that I don't recall the name of that had basically no redeeming value - just a bunch of screaming into the mike, no development of character.
Now, Mezmerize. Call it 'melodic speed metal'. It's short, sweet, and well done. I was pleased. Of course, I'm buying it in electronic format. I'd not pay $17 for it.
