Typographical vignettes

I'm very good at self-distraction, I think - started the evening working on website design, learning a few things about CSS and how it works (and doesn't work). About halfway into the evening, I realized I wanted 'one of those swoopy things they use to separate sections in books'. Realizing that wouldn't go so well into google, or anyone else I might ask, I started searching, and came out with the terms 'fleuron', and 'vignette'. Further searching made it obvious vignettes were what I was looking for, but style became the big question. See, unfortunately, noone pays any attention to relatively simple elements - the only vignettes I could find ranged from elaborate to baroque. *sigh* I think I may be forced to make my own, which'll be entertaining.

Heh, looked up 'baroque' to see whether I've been using it right all these years: 2 : characterized by grotesqueness, extravagance, complexity, or flamboyance. ... I'd add 'Or any of these in combination.' to satisfy the people in this world who treat 'or' as an exclusive function.
