First in a series
Nov. 6th, 2002 04:39 amTonight was the first of three nights of lack of sleep for project purposes.
It was also the first night I've had in a long time that particularly fits the classic codergeek night that I used to have earlier in my college career - sit down, read manuals, write code, bruise forebrain, drink caffeine, listen to loud music. So I'm still awake and how.
I had to go onto campus thanks to the pretty much unreconcilable problems our local network has during odd times of day. It was cold out, and foggy, very eerie to walk in. Pretty though. I feel terribly geeky using my Palm as a flashlight to get me across the gully between my house and campus, but it works.
I'm learning emacs (a text editor) in my constant quest for new things. I found it lent itself quite nicely to coding in Scheme, and my keyboard particularly likes emacs, since it's easy to customize the controls for emacs - it's likely I'll be using it more often now, and installing it on various systems at work to make my life easier. Heh.
I'll be skipping game tomorrow to make it possible for me to deal with the next project - I get to come up with a speech demonstrating something, with props, in the next twenty-four hours. It needs to be 4-10 minutes or so. I have no idea what I'm doing.
I think I sleep now. Pretty shit on teevee distracting me from unconsciousness. FFX nice...
