Open call for flames

Okay, so I've seen my first rabid Republican defend Trent Lott.

Is there something I don't know about this story and should, or should I be wondering (as I am) HOW you can defend someone who suggests that a racist, chauvinist segregationist should have been made president 50 years ago? This annoys and frustrates me to such an end that I was incoherent in my anger at the blindness earlier tonight.

New Rio. As per usual, an MP3 player's a nice, nice thing.

Had my first 'interesting' bug with it - it crashed for no apparent reason (might have been a corrupt MP3, who knows), and when it came back up, the buttons were a bit tweaky, eventually to the point that I couldn't actually skip forward or back, only play, pause and stop.

The solution? Microsoft it. Reinstall the firmware. Seems odd that something critical could happen to that particular area of memory. Guess it's a bit volatile. Sigh.
