The week of Polycon

So stuff. It's been a heck of a week, lots of things going on.

Recovering from a chaotic beginning of the quarter, I spent most of the week eating carefully and getting very little benefit from it. blargh. Stupid Denny's food and stuff.

Figured out what stride's schedule looks like this summer, so I can try to get up north to see her a few times. Should be good - there's a lot of good stuff to do this quarter.

Didn't make _any_ progress towards getting information out of my school about graduation, but I dreamed about it all week, when I dreamed. Except when I was dreaming this odd recurring dream about people fighting hopeless fights against me and me being really annoyingly self-righteous about it. That one's really odd.

Polycon was this weekend, so I came into contact with a vast quantity of cool people and things.

Comicon

So Comicon's coming up. I've been going to this thing with Stride for a few years now... I think this'll be my third (?). The first time, I ended up sorta following her and Karen (who she usually goes to these things with) around because I had no idea what I was doing or what specific things I was chasing.

By last year, I had a few interests, and wandered off occasionally to chase them down; I was beginning to get into the Webcomic commutiny.

This year, Stride and Karen are going to be stuck working the con for periods. Some of that time, I'm going to be up in Ramona, probably, since my birthday's the Friday the whole thing starts. However, I've got some missions to follow up on, if I can remember them.

Mine

Saw Finding Nemo finally, last week. Other than 'All Hail Pixar', I must say that the thing which struck me the most was how after the movie I realized I'd just sort of bought the whole thing - the fins-as-hands, the facial expressions, everything, it was _natural_. At no point did I have to smack that little voice in the back of your head that says 'well, that was awkward-looking.' whenever something's even a hair screwy.

Gonna go take an hour's nap, I think, then try starting today.

The Blizzard founders have left the building Crap on a stick, now they're going to be stuck trying to design games that won't suck compared to their graphics.
