As long as we're making quotes
Oct. 4th, 2003 12:00 amDuring PV3, I quoted Crowley: 'Do as thou wilt shall be the whole of the law'.
An argument around this quote resulted in me admitting that some add 'An it harm none' to this, and that my _character_ at least believed that it went without saying. Of course, my character cheerfully killed a trillion sentients for the needs of his race, so...
Here's the kicker. The whole quote for that latter? "Eight words the Wiccan Rede fulfill: 'An it harm none, do as thou wilt'."
I was surprised. I'd run into the line before, but for some reason it hadn't attached itself to the Wiccans.
One of the most rational laws I've ever seen. Why couldn't we just bloody obey this one?
(actually, I can answer that now - law is as much to remind people what causes harm as anything else)
