Whoof. Gonna be a strange ol' week. The last three days I've had this ugly little headache needling me; I haven't gotten headaches in quite a while - this is probably a side effect of work, videogames, and reading Oryx and Crake. Oryx and Crake was a lot of fun; If you like Gibson, you'll probably have some fun with it. It's by Margaret Atwood, gal who wrote The Handmaid's Tale

Besides that, Go continues to intrigue - given a few more days (payday right around the corner), I'll order me some books and a board, and start learning in earnest. Knowing me, I'll get distracted pretty quick, but I'll enjoy myself while I'm learning.

Work is busy but productive; working on some system statistics gathering stuff which has me tinkering with OS internals and badly documented toys the Solaris developers put in, as well as SNMP - simple network management protocol, which makes it easy for me to ask any of my systems questions. I'm working a lot on getting some of our old HPs out of the way still, and it's sorta arduous, but worth enough entertainment I don't get bored.

Crystal chronicles has consumed over three days of my life so far, overall. Not bad. I'm playing with one group sundays, one group mondays; somewhat unsurprisingly, the smaller group that started later is running a _lot_ better than the larger group. much fun.

Today was the anniversary of me getting lost in the woods so long ago. As usual, I forgot about it until Mom mentioned it. Put it in my calendar this time; maybe I'll remember next time. I think I've talked about the whole lost thing before; suffice to say, while age has toned down the immediacy, it's certainly a personal event which changed who I am, shaped the whole family a bit. Doesn't hurt to remember the why of who you are.

Been writing a bit, need to write more; I've begun to get into the habit of researching material to color things, hopefully I'll produce something resembling a good game out of it.

Been working Sunday mornings often, sometimes because there's something to do, sometimes just because it allows me to sleep in on weekdays; I'm not averse to more, shorter days.

Tyler's settling into life down in Huntington Beach; not entirely sure what he's doing down there, will have to email and get the true details from him.

Sleep overtakes me.
