issaferret: (comfy)
I don't often get weekends where I don't Do Stuff With Friends. Friends are good, they keep one sane, but having a weekend where I _don't_ spend all day both days doing something with a bunch of other people is good. I spent Saturday reading, relaxing and playing Nethack, save for a couple hours late at night wherein Mike taught me how to play a non-sucky clue-like game whose name I've forgotten (which makes it difficult to chase down a copy and buy it...:p Mike? would you mind reminding me what the _hell_ it's called?). Sunday, I slept through the morning, when I was supposed to be working, and then spent the afternoon playing Onimusha 3 in a fit of guilt. Onimusha 3 is pretty. Rosencrantz _sucks_ to fight.

Successfully got a puzzled look out of Dad when I suggested I wanted to drag him out to see Manchurian Candidate. He was the one who originally told me that it was a good movie (the 1962 version) and a good book. It's nice to know there are constants in life, like not being able to remember things that you apparently told people; I do that _ALL_ the time. Disturbingly often. Oh, and getting a puzzled look from 180 miles away is still pretty priceless; I like the iSight a lot; just need to compact the tech so that the lens fits inside the laptop instead of requiring a production to clip onto the top.

Jackie remembered how much I love foxes and sent me down a print from Shadowscapes - Stephanie Pui-Mun Law; I promptly fell in love with the fox on the right. Delightful :-)

Got myself a GMail account this weekend, too. Pointless expenditure of 5 bucks, but I definitely don't regret it. If Google does as well as I expect them to with this, Gmail may well be the webmail client that makes me stop using Entourage or any other local-storage client. Many cool features, which I may be able to enumerate coherently another time. Suffice it to say that if it continues to fail to suck, I'll likely pay for it when they make that an option, so I don't have to deal with the (admittedly _very_ unobtrusive) ads, and to show my support for something done right.

Sleepy. Nitenite.
