Caffeine tidbit

One of my favorite things to say about caffeine is 'It's not a a stimulant!' - something I got out of my biopsychology class. My followup explanation is usually 'It's a deregulator'.

More details, courtesy of google and howthingswork.com:

caffeine blocks the reception of 'adenosine', which makes you sleepy and slows down your brain. Without adenosine, the result is, in the general population, a brain that accellerates, gets more active. The true 'stimulant' effect occurs because the active brain makes your adrenal gland think something's really up, dumping epinephrine into your blood system. So, suddenly you're in fight-or-flight mode. No wonder your heart is pounding.

Fun!

Rap

Okay, so at my workplace I'm surrounded by people who love music... but they generally love the classics, jazzwork which I can't blame anyone for loving, suchlike.

Rap came up at one point a coupla weeks ago. I heard the usual Line of Pap about Rap being nothing but noise.

So, my challenge to anyone who listens - I want tracks which are meaningful and artistic - the stuff that you have to listen to and say "yeah, that's good shit."

They're few and far between, I fear.

Faithless - Get my Family Back
Eminem - Mosh (more for what it was attempting than quality of work, I fear)
Eminem - We as Americans

are three (yeah, I can't count. Sue me.) that I'd hold up as high examples.

Thoughts?
