Spent today cleaning up - cathartic, if exhausting. Clearing out the crap that's built up in the house... well, the living room and the dining room... for the last couple years feels good, even if my body's informing me it's packing up on me now.
Becky's parents got us a nice new vacuum which I finally unpacked today and used vigorously. It's now looking at me kind of bitterly from a corner. I feel a bit guilty for using it like that; I had to empty it like... five times.
We ordered a couch yesterday! Finally we'll have someplace to sit side-by-side in this house, and maybe it'll encourage us to consider keeping it clean enough for guests.
2007 was interesting. There were a lot of good times, a lot of challenges. My career is careering, to be sure, and I have a wonderful woman in my life who I plan to keep there.
This year was the year I got to chuckle and hum the lyrics to Alice in Chains' "Frogs" - 'Next week, I turn twenty-eight... I'm still young', and mean it (as opposed to the ironic twist Layne Staley gave it).
I look forward to seeing what the next year looks like.
