Some time ago I promised to Becky that I'd watch "On a Clear Day You Can See Forever" with her.
It's a Barbra Streisand movie from 1970. Thematic elements include chauvinism, really bizarre fashion in clothing, career-obsessiveness, musical numbers (it's screenwritten by the same guy what wrote Gigi and My Fair Lady), and a woman with powerful psychic abilities and no willpower.
( On a clear day you can see the color out of space )
I'm sure I've failed to capture how far this movie goes in breaking my brain. The ethics of telepathy are broken, hard, and because it's somehow treated in isolation (because how do you explain to the cops that someone's raping your mind?), it's more of a horror movie than most horror movies I've seen. All the more because I wasn't aware of the movie's plot beforehand.
After all, I was just expecting an old Streisand flick - harmless, right?
Brain. Damage.
