As long as I'm airing grievances (I'm airing grievances?), I should mention something amusing and embarassing. Michael, one of my coworkers (who incidentally, with aid from Daniel, makes working here far, far more enjoyable), called this morning to make sure I was conscious. Strangely, I was (gee), but he mentioned diffidently that he was going for Starbucks before he came in. I reacted enthusiastically, which startled him. Now, he worked at Starbucks for quite a while, and we had several conversations wherein I complained about Starbucks coffee.
Starbucks coffee is good stuff, for a chain-store coffee shop. I just wouldn't drink it at home.
Hadn't really thought that he'd taken it more seriously than intended. As usual, I'm wholly capable of offense even when (or particularly when, maybe) not intended.
In any case, he'll be bringing me a mocha latte, and I'll be happily drinking it. While I'm at it I'll apologize... Anything for coffee!
I'm not an addict, it's cool, I feel alive...
