Mage

After so long coming, we finally started the Renaissance Mage game which Wolf is running. Much of the first session was consumed by character background and preluding, but when we got to RP, it had a good feel to it. I took up the mantle of plot bitch and have made it mine; I'm writing my own plot to some extent, as things go. The character himself is a bit of a dichotomy; I've not quite figured out how to play him yet. He's a scholar, not excessively intelligent, but _very_ quick to adapt to new situations. He's noble, but not very well versed in the political arts. He has been trained to solve mysteries almost from birth in preparation for the mantle his father wore passing on to him, but knows little about his father and the family's onus.

I'm beginning to get an inkling, but it'll require another session or two to iron out. I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed a good Storyteller game until I picked up these two. With so much leeway in the system, and a system focused on being creative, I can have quite a bit of fun RPing without worrying that I'm 'holding up the game' - because this is the point of the game; why bother being a Mage, or a Changeling, or a superhero, or whatever, if you can't describe how wondrous it is?

I want to start my Trinity game; I'm probably going to run the preluding stuff before I get into the main plot, but I need my players to all be there, and Bunting's going to be missing tonight. It's a small game, but I think that three people should be able to take this problem apart and have some good RP in the midst of it all.
