I've made it as far as the couch, and I can't bring myself to move. Since sleeping on the couch would be bad (already hurt, should shower to soak out the overworked muscles from frisbee), I'll try to shake it off, write something.

Picked up some fluffy scifi earlier this week - needed something to read to distract me from whatnot, so I grabbed the least mainstream thing in the el corral bookstore lots; there was a selection of three books in a series from an author I'd never heard of. Taking this as someone's explicit recommendation (since everything else was mainstream works), I picked up the first one and read it; was intrigued, but still thought it was fluff. Then I was stuck awake last night grateful I'd picked up the other two, and I finished them both. The stories were executed from a very interesting perspective, with focus on details which many authors would not consider important, but gave me warm fuzzies to see illustrated. I found out that the author was a female graduate with a degree in Information Science, and a lot became clear. Info Sci isn't a major I have any idea about, but her focus on communication and certain aspects of human behavior entertained me. I'm not recommending y'go out and chase down her stuff, but Wen Spencer's series starting with "Alien Taste" has a pleasing flair, and is worth a few hours out of your life if you're a book nut.

update: moved, showered, in bed. Sleep till I wake.
