I have a weary smile on at this point. I've gotten a handle on the situation and been reanchored to here and now thanks to my friends, thank you all.
Through chance or whatever, I've ended up watching the two most life-thought-provoking films in the house collection - jynx was starting Requiem for a Dream when I walked in from work; an interesting coincidence. I let that run past me as I thought; still dark, depressing, and fucked up; a story in which addiction is the antagonist. Not the most relevant, but still thought-provoking.
The other film was Fight Club; Wolf expressed an interest for watching it. It was his second time, which made it a double treat for me, seeing someone watch that film through eyes which have seen it only once. Fight Club is disturbing, yes. Nevertheless, I believe parts of its message are, in fact, beautiful and important. It's got a very strong call to life, to live, which many people would find paradoxical in a film which, on its surface, is about man's, men's urge for destruction.
Any case, I'm doing fine now. I've discovered a bug in one of my programs which will keep my thoughts drowned all tomorrow, and at the end of tomorrow I should have signed my name to a perfectly reasonable job offer, or I'll be getting a few days off next week, most likely.
Cueball's in town, may end up hanging with him tomorrow evening. Should provide amusement.
Now, a wise man would go to sleep.
