May. 25th, 2004 04:18 pmI have to escape - I must get free, and in this head is the key, my key!
Just finished reading the manual for EMC PowerPath. Took me 20 minutes. I now understand that it's a critical application to the continued functioning of all of our SAN-connected storage, providing load-balancing and failover over fiber channel connections.
For the last year, I've been hearing the following line: "It's only used for backups". There's a completely different product (confusingly called Symmpath), which does that. Why hasn't this misconception been cleared up?
I have to escape. This place is going to drive me insane. Y'know why? because noone will believe me even if I start saying it, blast it! I HATE being discounted. HATE.
*curses a bit more* I'm better now. I'm writing a script to make failures in PowerPath more visible as a little passive-aggressive fuckyouverymuch. Maybe they'll start believing me.
