Some days.
Jun. 1st, 2004 12:26 pmI want a simple, command-line-interface for managing a few laserjet printers. I'd like to be able to punch three or four buttons and have it come up with the answers I want.
HP, in their infinite^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^Hnonexistent wisdom, has decided that this simple task deserves a massively complex feature set and a &*^*&%* WEB INTERFACE! Why, tell me, WHY, would I want to have to run a webserver and use a web browser to manage my printing? Could I perhaps get back the old software you morons used to support? No, of course not. Never mind, it was a silly question.
Guess it's time to *shudder* just use Solaris admintool. Oh, wait, that's being replaced with a JAVA GUI.
Anyone in the market for a Sun admin who doesn't want to admin Sun?
Anyone know how to use lpadmin(1M) without blowing off your own toes? Or wanting to blow off your own head? Suggestions to RTFM will be roundfiled with prejudice (read: your organs).
