I have head explody!

Hokay. So. I was starting to look into learning some distributed programming basics, basically as a kind of idiot's delight method of learning better programming while expanding my knowledge base - my current knowledge of distributed programming is limited to the most basic element, really - client-server style stuff.
Anycase, that's not why I have head explody (I should really read JTHM at one point so I'm not just quoting mindlessly). No, I hurt because I ran into some stuff about Microsoft's .NET platform. Looks hoopty, but flipping through things, I ran into so much jargon and frippery my cortex exploded, leaving me with charred wreckage and WTF sketched across my forehead in forty foot letters of fire.
So, just to warn you, proper precautions must be taken before attempting to understand the arcana which Muckroshaft has created, for it is intricate and designed to annihilate minds not grown in their vats.
