Never so rehearsed
Jul. 8th, 2004 02:03 pmHm. For whatever reasons, the weight that's been flattening everything for the last few weeks seems to have lifted; I haven't the slightest idea what caused it to come or go in specific; whether it was physical or mental or spiritual, and what the cure was, but I'm enjoying myself again; my wry smile back on my face and my constant amusement with life no longer quite so flagging.
I hate being inconstant. Need to find my center again. Guess that's part of why I'm outta here at the end of the year: time to sort myself.
Anycase, on amusement front: they finally put out a printer with a built-in wireless card; since it connects to the network, and works using standard protocols like HP's PCL printer language and the Rendezvous protocol for detection, it was painless to set up. Thank god for technological advances. No more 'making a better life through stealing office supplies'.
Game starts tomorrow. Still need terrain for the first set of encounters... Hm, need to go up the hill and get wet-erase markers, since my old ones have vanished through my carelessness. Amazing how nothing I write is original, but it seems decent enough when you don't consider my myriad sources.
New band in my archives: Primus. Most of the tracks never drew me, so I never really liked it, but after taking the time to rip a whole stack and filter through the stuff that I _don't_ like, I found myself with a substantial collection of badass bass, drum, and guitar, and lyrics which often make TMBG seem sane. Southbound Pachyderm, the Return of Southingtom Willoughby, and Over the Electric Grapevine are among my favorites, for various reasons.
Bits just called me asking for my assistance with some Solaris compatibility foo, yay random extra work :-)... makes me feel more employable.
