Getting into Monterey at 7:30 in the morning, _much_ earlier than I expected, I wandered a little aimlessly for about 10 minutes before finding a Starbucks. Now, Starbucks is the plague of the coffee world, yes, but being able to curl up next to the window on Cannery Row, with an above-average cup of coffee and an apple fritter, and get on the 'net, warm and cozy, ranks among the great things in consumer culture.
At least I've restrained myself from plugging into the wall and playing WoW. My luck, Becky'd get into town the moment I was thoroughly hooked into a quest :-)
Oh, yeah. WoW is fun and pretty. Still a MMORPG, but it's slick and sleek. Like an otter.
