Things Fall Together
Dec. 21st, 2004 12:43 pmWell, things are rolling together finally as I sort the last bits of my move north. Tomorrow I get to shove stuff into a box-with-wheels - everything I'm taking north that I can't carry with me on my back on the morning of the 30th. We're going to go see the Hearst Castle for an evening showing with all the Holiday lights on, then go home. I'll be back on Sunday.
Anyway, Electrical's been sorted, Cable/broadband's getting sorted on the 30th (so I'll have 'net when I move in, awesome!), we might have the opportunity to shop for my new bed/couch while I'm up this weekend. I'm getting pretty jazzed. This is going to rock.
Speaking of jazzed, I'd like to take this opportunity to pump someone Nick's indirectly to blame for foisting on me - Béla Fleck. Gorgeous jazz. Simply gorgeous. I was in a crap mood yesterday until I listened to The Leaning Tower, and melted to the sound of irish violin jazz. Some simply beautiful stuff.
World of Warcraft owns my soul - Fun game, fun play, enjoying a paladin and a priest at the moment, with a Horde mage secondary. Recently though, after so much playing in my free time, I found I was suddenly in need of a good book to read. I picked up and read the Black Magician trilogy by Trudy Canavan in a weekend, and am pushing through Hobb's Tawny Man trilogy now.
Work is winding down. I've got some documents to present to them, but other than that, my responsibilities are relatively loose. Most of today has been getting various vital details ironed out in my moving plans rather than being otherwise productive.
