Losing things.
Apr. 22nd, 2005 08:52 amLike my mind, as usual (It's only misplaced!)....
I hate it when I lose a slip of paper and have to go chasing around to find the fucker.
I think I've found something I hate more: Losing a file. Particularly, losing an SSL certificate. I fed my flatfile versions of the SSL cert into an application which, much like an obnoxious small dog, has chewed them into it's own format and is stubbornly refusing to 'hurry up'. Two weeks later (here, the analogy promptly breaks down, since a dog who'd still not given me the shit I was looking for would have exploded, which is a satisfying image, but doesn't accomplish what I need), I come back to realize I have no idea where the original flatfiles are.
SSL certificates aren't all fun and games to generate, so now I have to go back and figure out how to do it all over again, since of course I didn't document how I did mine.
TGIF.
PS: I have no idea what my net's going to look like next week, though I suspect I'll be able to find connections somehow - I'm going to SF for the Veritas Vision conference. Should be fun. Geeking on clustering and mirroring, Woooo!
PPS (edit): Whoever put the Sun LDAP client libraries into the Solaris core package so I can't delete them permanently must die.
