The hermit left his nest, briefly.
May. 14th, 2005 05:07 pmSo yeah, I went out today, reminding myself that there's a world beyond my room and my place of work.
Hitchhiker's guide to the Galaxy. Um. Good, interesting, very much made into an American Movie, fwiw. I saw justification for Stupidity as Survival Trait for the vogons, as well as indications that the Vogons have successfully trained those pretty crabs to find ways to crush themselves.
I also *looks proud of himself* found a game shop. Relatively close by to the monterey transit center. Didn't actually check out the game board, since that's getting a little ahead of myself. I did end up grabbing the Autochthonian book for Exalted and one of Atlas Games' latest releases: Cthulu 500. Seems like a relatively simple 'racing' game that's composed primarily of jockeying for position. Driving cars with names like 'The Vehicle Man Was Not Meant To Drive', Pit crew including th Black Goat of the Track and the Ia! Ia! Sisterhood, Mods like the JATO Rocket and the Crankcase of Charles Dexter Ward, and tires like the Big Fat Radials of Flaming Death, it puts a relatively amusing twist on a simple game. I suspect that I'll end up spending some time in the Big Room come con-time, trying out the games I've collected and not played :p
And now, I'll carefully not pass out. There was much walking involved to get to the theater... and I got lost about four times before figuring out which way to go. I need a better map.
