Welcome, 2006!
Jan. 3rd, 2006 11:45 amI heralded the new year up in northern northern California with Jackie, Jack, and Becky, and then tested my driving ability by driving home down the 5 and across 152. Not bad. Made one serious error in the pouring rain that thankfully didn't harm anyone, and otherwise got us home unharmed (Halted for an ambulance to U-turn, thought it was going to the far lane, started moving again, it pulled around to come into my lane, I made an unsignalled lane change. Car pulled up behind me. Bad me for not just sitting there until the amby was clear. Dumbass.). It was _wet_. We spent a good portion of the weekend in the dark thanks to the wind up there. Had some good games of bridge, cribbage, and whatnot, tho :-)
Arrived at work today to a couple time-based issues - I'd written one RE so lamely last month that it couldn't deal with single-digit days of the month (forgot about the variable whitespace in syslog dates). Also, several important passwords in LDAP expired, so replication broke and LDAP clients couldn't connect. Fixed that, boo for not knowing about it before.
So anyway, new year, new changes. I should be getting my license soon, getting insured, then getting my car within a couple months. I hope.
