Mar. 2nd, 2006 03:39 pmOh, this is fun. I've learned that the DoD wants everyone in their purview using cryptographic authentication (i.e. public key auth or PKI) by July. I knew that we were getting the Windows systems moved over to it - that part was easy-peasy apparently.
What I didn't quite realize is that they're pushing for all the UNIX systems to go there... and we're being pushed to get it going so that we're all authenticating off our CACs.
I just got pushed headfirst into the pool of PKCS#11, CRL, OCSP, x509, and other delightful acronyms. Much fun was had by all.
