It's been a while since I've spent a day building software, but it's been even longer since I've seen software catch fire the way my apache server did yesterday. I restarted Apache on one system, and it started core-dumping on start. A lot. Messy stuff.

For the record, it takes something like six hours to rebuild Apache with PHP and all the dingles I need from scratch with GCC.

Still going...

According to the Cal Poly news I get, they're moving the Rose Float building sometime this year.

Moving. The Rose Float Building.

It's been there for years, and the sheer buildup of bizarre crap is going to be a wonder to go through. Not to mention if you take it away from the grain silo (it's moving to somewhere behind the parking lot on mount Bishop), it'll be hard to appropriately gravity test welds and irritating electronics.

Not to mention, moving all that crap's going to be just a bit of a pain in the arse, and the end result will be a building at least partially cut off from the history of the club. Sad... but then they've been slowly changing the place since they decided to employ someone for the sole purpose of irritating the students in the club until they quit.
