New toy thoughts

Shortly after getting couch, I also got my new work laptop - the first of it's kind.
It's not a bad machine, and certainly a bit of overkill for running Cisco VPN and Remote Desktop Connection.
But it's reminded me how nice it'd be to have a real gaming laptop again. I think I want to stop having to use the Desktop from the Couch since I haven't got a good way of making that not hurt my hands.... and it's past time for a new lappy. My Mac has no battery life and is getting sadder by the day.
Soooo, I'm looking at laptops. Dell's got a shiny $500 off on their XPS systems right now... I don't know if anyone else's models don't suck. I'll letcha know if I have any brilliant epiphiwhatsits. If anyone knows what the current state of the decent is, share?
