My new home
Jan. 25th, 2008 03:04 pmSo: four and a half years after the purchase of my 17 inch Powerbook, I have a new laptop.
New lappy is a Dell XPS M1530 - their 'gamer' model 15"er. It's got a decent vid card and more RAM than my desktop, as well as a couple sillies, like a webcam and touch buttons for DVD playback.
So far, it's pretty. I've been futzing it about for about an hour getting Vista set up the way I like it and turning off some of the BS that dell gives you with their systems.
Pirates will be going on here first and I'll be able to say how good the GPU is based on whether I can have my physics back or not; I kinda suspect I'll strike an uneasy truce between the 'utter crap' vid that I have on my work compy and the blazingly insane GPU on the desktop box.
Scion starts tonight. I'm looking forward to that a lot - I've been out of running game for over three years now. Question is, of course, can I run something I won't feel embarassed to admit I'm running?
