Choosing d12 in this case makes sense, but don't make EVERY other decision completely complimentary to that.
8 points to distribute among the 8 columns.
Max bab, max init, max Will, tanked the wealth and gear = absolutely no surprises. Come on, surpise the reader a little with an interesting or insightful twist . (no, this is not easy, but it is very important)

d8: 1.
High BAB: +3.
Med BAB: +2.
Low BAB: +1.
