Hell of a week

This week has been a rollercoaster ride. Over the weekend I was made aware of the fires around San Diego when my mother called to inform me that the fire had crested the ridge near my Grandmother's home - the same grandmother who lost her husband, my dear grandfather, so very recently.
My own troubles of the week have seemed vastly less significant compared to the threat of fire based on the whim of the wind, but nevertheless, the overtone was there all week to make things more worrisome.
Ran out of money on Saturday (whee) and ran off of my groceries for a few days. Wednesday saw me turning in my senior project report to Brady finally. I've got no time to write the games I'm running, thanks to two exams this week I had to study for.
Or so I thought. One of them got pushed off to next week, and my professor who's waffled all over the place _FINALLY_ gave us a date for our group report three weeks hence. I'm not certain whether to hug him or light him on fire for not telling us when sooner. I lean towards lighting him on fire, because his lecture style sucks.
Work was mostly trying desperately to get compilers to build and programs to compile, possibly the least stressful except for the time out of my day it took.
I still have to write game for tonight (if I can) and even when I've got it written, I need to add a couple last-minute features to the FSMSimulator so I can turn the damn thing in tomorrow when I review my project with Brady, hopefully one last time. I expect she'll finally give me some direction for what she wants the damn thing to look like now that she's got what I think it should look like, so here's hoping we see eye-to-eye.
I'm all tense and jittery in ways I haven't been for months.
On the upside, I spent two hours last night playing at being a philosopher, using the basic tools of the trade to whipsaw one of the other players in my wednesday night game. Both of us got a lot of entertainment out of it, and I think this character's going to be a lot of fun to play. Monday was also a lot of fun, but created a need for me to create a selection of NPCs to play politics with the party. I'm totally out of my depth creating a political plot arc, but it should be a lot of fun.
