It's been a long time since my job was terribly exciting - basically, once the big firewall went up, one of the most amusing things in my early career went away: the hack attempts. When I first got started, I had no conception of using a firewall, and I didn't have sufficient knowledge to know what services were truly unnecessary, so the occasional Sun security problems would crop up and one or more of our boxes would get 0wn3d. Apparently I wrote a little report on the most intriguing of these, which occurred during April, 2001. The best thing about this one was that it was totally mysterious - it was a _brand new hack_ which the public hadn't been made aware of yet.
