CISSPeen0r
Dec. 13th, 2007 05:07 pmSo, as part of an attempt for the DOD to grow its IT-peen, I'm going to be required to become a CISSP. Work-provided training starts in February sometime; until then, I'm going to be reading the Official (ISC)^2 Guide to the CISSP CBK.
It's 1100 pages of, from the sample I've read, dense, high syllable jargon explaining top to bottom how to be a "Certified Information Systems Security Professional".
So far, having read the first paragraph of the first module, "Information Security and Risk Management", I find myself in awe of the phrase "inculcate holistically", used to describe the intended method of my education from this tome. Based on Merriam-Webster, I translate this into "We're going to pound the whole thing into you repetitively.
I expect to be making a few more posts about this insanity.
